Add attended bot to Orchestartor

Hi all, I have licensed my orchestrator using the unattended license. I also have 2 attended bots, how can I connect both of them to orchestrator. So far all I have done is create a machine key and connect on one through assistant, but the robot does not exist. Is there a resource I can follow or if someone could please tell me about the steps in order, I will really appreciate it.

Go to Tenant β†’ Settings β†’ Robot security β†’ set Hybrid and Hybrid

Go to Tenant β†’ Manage Access β†’ Manage Account & Groups β†’ Add User β†’ Provide email and add them to the Everyone group β†’ Accept the user invitation

Go to Tenant β†’ Manage Access β†’ Manage Account & Groups β†’ Assign roles β†’ User β†’ search for the added user in Identity β†’ in the Roles select Allow to be Automation User and Automation User β†’ In the Personal automations setup check Enable user to run automations β†’ select the Automation Developer license and provide the DOMAIN\USERNAME (from the robot VM, open cmd.exe and provide the result in that Text field) β†’ Skip and assign

In the Modern folder, make sure you are adding the robot user with Automation User role and the machine template

In UiPath Assistant β†’ Preferences β†’ Orchestrator Settings β†’ choose Client ID connection β†’ provide Client ID and Client Secret from the Machine template and just Connect

Now, the attended robot should be licensed and you should be see the available processes in UiPath Assistant

Hi @marian.platonov , thank you so much for your detailed response. I changed the settings to both hybrid and created a user under manage accounts and groups, I did not get an invitation though. After I went in to assign roles and setup personal automation but it didn’t update. I currently have only one folder and can see the user is added there. What needs to be changed?
If I select standalone licence, I was able to save.

By the way letting you know it’s on prem Orchestrator and I can only see this under licences so far.

If you have 2 attended bots, and you don’t have two attended licenses available in your Orchestrator, you cannot license them.

So, first buy two extra Automation Developer licenses and you will be able to connect them with the instructions that I provided above.

Hi @marian.platonov thanks for your response. Really appreciate your help. We have one bot which I use to develop and it has UiPath - Flex - Automation Developer - Named User licence and the other one is UiPath - Flex - Attended - Named User. Would I be able to connect them ? We recently set up on prem orchestrator and purchased a separate unattended licence which we used to licence orchestrator and if I go under licences I can’t see an option to add any more licences. Please advise. I’ll be very grateful.

You should have all the licenses under the same Orchestrator license.

There is also an exception, in case you have attended standalone licenses, in that case, they can work without connecting to Orchestrator to license them.

Write in private the license codes that you have to see what you actually purchased and how to connect them.

If you are not ok with that, raise a case with Official UiPath Support from the Customer portal.

Thanks @marian.platonov , I’ll check with the team on Monday and let you know.
Have a good weekend.

Best regards

Hi @marian.platonov I reached out to UiPath support, and they have advised to merge the licenses. Will do that and give it a go after. I’m closing this topic for now. Thank you so much for your help. Post merge, I will try following your steps again.
