2020 Fast Track: Preview 1 Release

We’ve started this year in full force, as our first community release in 2020 brings you some new powerful tools to help build your automation processes. You can now automate AWS environments as simple as dragging a few activities in your workflow, and - invoices beware! - our document understanding tools have been heavily improved upon with the addition of several new features and activities. Just scroll down and witness our creation!

IT Automation Activities

UiPath.AmazonWebServices.Activities package offers activities for AWS cloud platform. It enables IT Departments to easily automate important AWS S3 and AWS EC2 operations in their workflows like managing Buckets, Objects, and Instances.

Document Understanding Activities

 A new extractor joined the family of capabilities for document understanding :mechanical_arm:. Its name is Position Based Extractor and it even has its own wizard to make configuration super simple! You can easily find it in the UiPath.IntelligentOCR.Activities package and you can make use of it whenever you’re in need of extracting information from fixed layout documents (imagine IRS, accident report, or any other standard template forms). Be careful though, this activity can be used only within the Data Extraction Scope activity.

:star_struck: The Regex Based Extractor now supports extraction of tables, by allowing you to define a regular expression for identifying the table area, a regular expression for identifying a table row in that area, and regular expressions for identifying specific columns in the table rows.

:mage: The Data Extraction Scope can now automatically read Extractor capabilities (internal taxonomies) if the Extractor declares them. This simplifies the configuration step by exposing the extractor’s known fields. The Machine Learning Extractor now supports this new functionality, making it very easy to use and configure in the Configure Extractors wizard.

:performing_arts: The Validation Station now has a new feature, :mag_right:Show Suggestions. This allows you to review multiple candidates for a value, if the used extractors report multiple possible values for a specific field.

Let’s not forget the new addition to the UiPath.PDF.Activities package, the much requested
:tada: Get PDF Page Count :tada: brand new activity. By using this activity, you can now easily know the total number of pages of a given PDF file.

Nice Updates!

Is this Studio version 2019.12.0-beta.61? Or am I missing something?

Hi @SenzoD

I have used, and appear to work OK.
This is a preview version, must be installed from Beta feed.

What issues you have?

Wow, love the UiPath.PDF.Activities package. Get PDF Page Count was long overdue

Hi Manisha,

  1. What version of UiPath.PDF.Activities you are trying to install? Try the latest version at this moment (3.4.1)
  2. Your machine and Studio are running on 64-bit?
  3. In Manage Packages → Settings → Do you have these sources enabled and accessible? Are you finding the UiPath.PDF.Activities in Official and Gallery sources?
