Convert date of string format to date time

Any Idea why in the date format “dd-MM-yyyy” MM should be in Caps - I tried format with month in lower case “dd-mm-yyyy” and results are wrong .

Here, MM should be in Caps only. if you write mm then it will refers to Minutes but not Month. That’s why you are getting wrong result.
