Write Cell excel errors

Hi,

I currently have an RPA procedure that writes to an excel 3 times - The job will work for say 5 rows but eventually will throw the error:

Unable to cast COM object of type ‘System.__ComObject’ to interface type ‘System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.IConnectionPointContainer’

This happens at random and often when I restart the job again it will work.

Has anyone seen this before?

Hi @sean.ryan ,

Could you let us know if Excel or Workbook Activities are used ? And also if the Closing of the Workbooks is done ? Since there is a continuation of data being written to the same excel it might corrupt or the file might not be closed properly for the next write.

Maybe we could try the Closing of the Workbooks after each Write and check if that is able to resolve it.

Let us also know what are the versions of Studio and the Excel package version that is being used.

If you were able to resolve the error, do post the Solution and Close the topic.

It’s better to store the data in a datatable that’s populated by your loop, then after all the data is compiled just do one Write Range or Append Range.
