Word Scope not opening

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with Word Application Scope.

When I am running the workflow attended, everything is alright, but in unattended mode I get the an error message suggesting that there was a problem with opening the document, and I should make sure Word is installed.

Checks I made so far:

  • When I log in to the Virtual Machine where the Unattended Robot is, I can find the file and open it in Word without any problem.
  • There is another Process that is already live in Production, and using the same activity (Word Application Scope) and the same version (1.3.4) on a 1-to-1 copy of the same file (…docx) without any problem.

Since it is a client environment and there is a Process in Production where also Office applications are used, I would not experiment with uninstalling Office, unless it is a sure solution.

Hi Penceajr,

yes, I managed to solve the issue. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with the project settings. Word Scope is opened in the foreground and I think our process was set as a background process.

ProjectJson → “requiresUserInteraction” => True
