Apologies if this has been asked, I couldn’t find any up to date information on it, or threads with more than a single reply.
UiPath has always recommended IE as the development browser, as it rarely changes, even if it is slow. However, this is being discontinued next year.
Hence, what is the official recommendation going forward? The chrome browser seems to change constantly and regularly needs its plugin updated, and I guess firefox and edge are similar!
Big assumption here, but if I were UiPath I would always prioritize supporting what ships per default on Windows first and then everything coming after that. Hence, new Edge browser could become the new IE. I believe the out of the box usability of IE, without the necessity of another extension has something to do, how IE is integrated into Windows OS, though. As the new Edge is based on Chromium, I am not sure, if this kind of integration will actually be possible (use of specific dlls and Windows object classes, that have no need for extensions, that utilize nativemessaginghost for instance).
Thats my 2 cents, but maybe someone wiser can enlighten us with actual facts
Thanks Gareth and kc-x for asking this important and relevant question. Oddly, I an not seeing any replies. Is there any recommendation from UiPath as to which browser to use, Edge verses Chrome?
