While login with the local user, "An error has occurred" is encountered. How to handle?

Issue Description: Method is only supported if the username parameter matches the username in the current Windows Identity. Check the event viewer logs ensure if error “Method is only supported if the username parameter matches the username in the current Windows Identity” is observed.

Step 1:
  1. Verify the below Authorization Rules.


  1. Select Authorization rules

  1. If Any extra rules remove the same.

Step 2
  1. Open the web.config file
  2. Compare the same version of the web.config file with the issue web.config file
  3. Verify the below and commented if below configuration is available.
