What is the function of "AnchorPosition" property in Anchor Base activity?

I can’t understand how Anchor Position property works, when I change it from auto to any option else, Only change is the position of anchor and action activities in the anchor base activity, Not care about their really position on the screen while running, If any one has clear explanation, please tell me it.
Another related Q : what is happen when anchor is inside the target? with me the program terminated without implementing the rest of activities and without any error.
