They are not same. Web scraping is used to extract structured data from the browser whereas screen scraping is used to extract the data from applications. Web scraping/Data scraping is scraping the data which has same pattern and it can be easily extracted into an excel, db etc. as the extracted data will be in a tabular format. Using screen scraping we can extract hidden data, images etc… using different scraping methods available.
