What are the best practices for studiox attended process publishing

How do you organize the attended processes for your citizen developers on a three-tenant (dev test prod) architecture, if you want to still grant them autonomy. We also have automation users

All our citizens are currently connected to the dev tenant, through the studio and assistant

all the processes in “production” are in the dev tenant as well. that grants them some autonomy in case here are new processes/publishing

I was wondering if we should move the processes to the next tenants just like the unattended processes

Hi @adext01

For a three-tenant Dev/Test/Prod setup, I’d generally recommend keeping development and production publishing clearly separated while still giving Citizen Developers autonomy.

For attended StudioX processes:

  • Dev: Citizen Developers can develop, test, and publish their packages to a dedicated development feed/folder.
  • Test: Move/promote the tested package to the Test tenant for validation.
  • Prod: Only approved packages should be deployed to the Production tenant, ideally through a controlled deployment process.
  • Keep Automation Users separate from individual Citizen Developer accounts for production execution where possible.
  • Use folder-level roles and permissions to control who can publish, deploy, and manage packages in each environment.

This gives Citizen Developers freedom to build in Dev without allowing unrestricted changes to Production.

Also, I’d avoid having Production processes remain in the Dev tenant long-term, as it can make governance, versioning, and access control harder to manage.

Hi @adext01 ,
Keep citizen developers connected to DEV for Studio development and publishing. Once an attended process is validated, promote the approved package through TEST → PROD. UiPath Orchestrator tenants have separate resources, which supports this environment separation.

Give citizens autonomy in DEV, but restrict deployment/publishing permissions in PROD. Orchestrator supports permissions such as View on Packages and View/Create on Processes for process deployment.

Citizen Developer → DEV → TEST → Approval → PROD → UiPath Assistant

Thanks
