We have an upcoming change for Community and free plan organizations — no action required on your part, but here’s what to expect.
User License Management coming to all Community and free plan orgs
Until now, Community and free plan organizations could run in either of two licensing modes: the legacy model, where licenses were tied to individual Orchestrator tenants, or the newer User License Management (ULM) model, where licenses belong to the organization as a whole. Legacy user licensing has been on UiPath’s deprecation timeline since October 2023. We’re now completing that transition by automatically enabling ULM for all Community and free plan orgs.
With ULM on, you manage user licenses once, either from Admin → Accounts & Groups or the Licenses → Users tab. The users carry that license across every tenant they have access to. No more per-tenant allocation.
The migration runs automatically. Here’s how existing assignments carry over:

Users who held an explicit license in any Orchestrator tenant keep it, mapped to the organization level.

Users who received licenses only through groups keep the most powerful license from those groups.

If the External License option was set for a user on any tenant, that setting is preserved.
Two things to be aware of after migration:

Users will need to sign in to Studio or Assistant once to activate their migrated licenses.

Robot key authentication will be disabled. ULM automatically enforces interactive authentication in Orchestrator, so any robots currently connecting via robot key will stop working until switched to interactive sign-in.
