User is missing required index permissions

Why is the "User is missing required index permissions" error encountered when adding a new index in the AI Trust Layer view?

Issue Description:

When attempting to create a Context Grounding index to add a storage bucket in the AI Trust Layer admin settings, the error message "User missing required index permissions" is encountered.

Error:

"User is missing required index permissions."

The generated HAR should show as "403 Forbidden" status code.

Root Cause:

The respective folder is not selected before adding the Index. Basically, no indexes were found in this folder, even though a folder was not selected.

Resolution:

  1. Verify User Permissions: The User should have admin rights to configure Context Grounding. It's important to note that context grounding cannot typically be defined in personal workspaces, although admin users can see all indexes irrespective of the folder.
  2. Attempt to try again by following the steps below:
    1. Navigate to the 'Context Grounding' section of the AI Trust Layer page.
    2. Before Clicking on "Add New" make sure the respective folder is selected ((1) as shown below, and then click on "Add New".
