today I discovered a strage thing. I hava a robot process that I have developed with Studio version 18…4.3 and that process is running fine. Now I have a new version of Studio 19.10.x and I have also to bring this process to an other machine. So I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade the activities to the newest version e.g. the UIAutomation activities from version 18.4.3 to 19.11.1.
Here a picture of the field that I’m investigating:
With activities version 18.4.3. the attributes (e.g. javastate) of that field are shown in German language:
After updating the activities to 19.11.1 the same attributes of the same field are in English language:
This is terrible. While developing we always got these attributes in German language. We read these because we want to find out whether a button is active or not and can be used. Otherwise we have to do other actions. Because these attributes were German, we looked in that process into the string to find out whether the german term is contained in the attribute string.
My question now: is the output language of the activities fixed or can that be changed from us in some way? Why is that sometimes localized and sometimes not?
Any suggestions? For now I will check the string for terms in both languages.
