Unexpected End of File - Project.json file was partially deleted

Working on a project and as the title states, the file can no longer be opened and the error “Unexpected End of File” appears. I looked at the main.xaml in notepad and it seems to be cutoff at a random point and is now missing 3,000+ lines when compared to the most recent backup file we have.

I tried to delete the project.json file and reopen main.xaml but the error still occurs and the file is still cutoff in notepad.

Is there an understanding as to why this might have happened and is there any way to recover it?

Could you share your code? I will try open it
I think you have made some configuration changes that prevent the xaml file from opening

I would prefer not to send the full code file. Is there anything else we can do?
