How to solve the error of 'unable to stat file system: no such file or directory' on etcd disk /var/lib/rancher/rke2/server/db?

Issue description

 lsblk shows the disk mounting has been completed. However, while running the pre-check, got error message '[Rke2_Disk_Validation] unable to stat file system: no such file or directory' for the ETCD disk /var/lib/rancher/rke2/server/db.

Root Cause

 If ETCD disk is mounted first on /var/lib/rancher/rke2/server/db and then rancher disk on /var/lib/rancher , the ETCD disk becomes inaccessible on mount point. This is linux mounting constraint, we need to ensure rancher disk is mounted first and then ETCD.

Solution

Unmount the rancher and etcd disks, mount them again by order (rancher before ETCD), then configure the disks using uipathctl.

umount /var/lib/rancher
umount /var/lib/rancher/rke2/server/db

To configure the cluster disk, run the following command:

./bin/uipathctl rke2 disk --cluster-disk-name name_of_cluster_disk

Configuring the etcd disk on the server machines run the following command:

./bin/uipathctl rke2 disk --etcd-disk-name name_of_etcd_disk
