What permissions are needed to publish agents to the tenant feed in Orchestrator?
Issue Description
When attempting to publish an agent from Studio Web, only the personal workspace option is available in the publish dialog. The expected option to publish directly to the Orchestrator tenant feed is not visible, preventing the agent from being shared with other users or deployed to production environments.
When clicking the "Publish" button inside the agent, the UI does not display the tenant feed option. Only the personal workspace destination is available for publishing, limiting the agent's accessibility and deployment capabilities.
Root Cause
The issue is caused by insufficient user permissions in Orchestrator.
Key technical details:
- Users must have appropriate solution-related roles assigned to publish packages to the tenant feed
- By default, users without solution management privileges can only publish to their personal workspace
- Either the Solutions Contributor or the Solutions Administrator role is required to access tenant-level publishing options in UiPath
- Without proper role assignment, the tenant feed option is not rendered in the publish UI
Resolution
To resolve this issue, assign the Solutions Administrator role to the user in Orchestrator:
- Navigate to Orchestrator and access the tenant settings
- Go to Tenant → Manage Access
- Locate the affected user in the user list
- Click Edit next to the user's name
- Assign one of the following roles based on organizational requirements:
- Solutions Contributor (recommended for developers): Allows users to view, edit, and create solution packages and package versions in UiPath
- Solutions Administrator (for administrators): Allows users to create, edit, and delete solution packages and manage solution deployments in UiPath.
- Save the changes
- Instruct the user to refresh Studio Web or log out and log back in
- Verify that the tenant feed option now appears in the publish dialog
If the issue persists, raise a UiPath support ticket.
