I am using Move File or Folder activity in Onedrive, the actvity is executing but it is not moving the file. and if you notice why it is showing Message icon if it not a message activity, and second it is showing Send Task. Can you please help me, if this is a correct activity ?
The Move File or Folder activity is the correct activity for moving items in OneDrive. The message icon / Send Task shown in the designer is likely related to the Agent Builder activity configuration, rather than meaning that it is a messaging activity.
If the activity executes successfully but the file is not moved, I would first check:
Verify the Source points to the correct OneDrive file/folder.
Confirm the Destination is the correct OneDrive folder path/location.
Make sure the connected account has edit/write permission on both locations.
Check whether the file is currently locked or being used by another process.
Try using the OneDrive/SharePoint item ID or a valid item reference if the activity supports it, instead of relying only on the displayed path.
Check the activity output/result and any execution logs for details.
Also, please share the configured Source and Destination values (mask any sensitive information) and the activity/package version. That would help identify why it executes without actually moving the file.
Please try creating a new Task instead of reusing the existing one, then configure it again:
Add a new Task in Agent Builder/Maestro.
Set Action = Execute connector activity.
Select the Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint connector.
Select Move File or Folder.
Select the correct File or folder to move.
Select the Destination folder.
Save and run the process again.
The Move File or Folder activity itself is correct for OneDrive/SharePoint. UiPath confirms that it moves the selected item to the specified destination folder. an issue, you can try the Enter URL option for the OneDrive/SharePoint resource. UiPath added this option for Maestro in August 2026.
If the newly created task also completes without moving the file, please share the source, destination, and execution result/error, and we can check the configuration further.
@balkishan In BPMN, the envelope icon means the task was initially created as a Send Task, which remains in the underlying BPMN XML even after changing the action to Execute connector activity. To change it, click the node on the canvas and use the task type switcher on the floating context bar above the node to set it to Service Task.
For the file not actually moving, the Move File or Folder connector activity expects the OneDrive Item ID or full Web URL rather than just a relative folder path string. If you pass a plain text path like Documents/Archive, the activity often returns success without moving anything because it cannot resolve the target item. Switch the input mode to Enter URL or use the OneDrive file picker, or fetch the Item ID first via Get File/Folder and pass that ID.
