Hi everyone,
I’m trying to get a Document Understanding (DU) API key, but I’m unable to find the required DU license.
I followed the documentation and navigated to Admin → Licenses → Default, where the DU license is supposed to appear, but it isn’t listed. I even created a new account, but I’m still facing the same issue.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there an additional step required to enable Document Understanding or obtain a DU API key for a new account?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi @Rehan_Ali1
If you are using community, the DU API key actually lives right on Admin → Licenses → Robots & Services, same tab where Computer Vision and Data Fabric keys show up
but looking closer, thats probably exactly your issue, Document Understanding only shows an API key there once the service itself is enabled on your tenant. Notice how Maestro, IXP, Data Fabric and Document Understanding show up as text only (“license allows the service to be enabled on any given tenant”) without a key, while Computer Vision and Data Fabric Units (wich are already active) do show a key with copy/refresh icons.
Hi @Rehan_Ali1
If the Document Understanding license is not visible under Admin → Licenses → Default, first verify that you are in the correct organization and tenant and that you have the required admin permissions.
For a new account, the required Document Understanding capabilities may need to be enabled or assigned to the organization/tenant before the related license or API-key options become available.
If everything looks correct but the DU license is still missing, I would recommend contacting UiPath Support or your UiPath account representative to confirm the licensing/entitlement for your account.
Hope this helps!
