Unable to create a REF project from template

When I open UiPath and click “New From Template”, Robotic Enterprse Framework.

I get an error message, stating "Could not find resource UiPath.uiautomationnext.properties.

I’ve attached my UiPath version.

@NiesonF

Your Studio version is already out of support and I feel it’s the reason behind the error. There are lot of .net and library, packages version which would have lost compatibility.

I would suggest to upgrade the Studio to latest possible version.

Hi @NiesonF,

Could you try deleting the existing NuGet package from C:\Users\Username\.nuget\packages and then try again?

Thanks!

Hi @NiesonF,

This error appears to be related to a missing or corrupted UiPath.UIAutomationNext resource/package:

Could not find resource UiPath.UIAutomationNext.Properties...

You can try the following steps:

  1. Close UiPath Studio completely.
  2. Clear the UiPath package cache, especially the UIAutomation related packages.
  3. Reopen UiPath Studio and restore/update the project dependencies.
  4. Check whether UiPath.UIAutomation.Activities is installed correctly.
  5. If the issue occurs only when creating a REFramework project, try updating or repairing the UiPath Studio installation.

Since the error occurs while loading the REFramework template, it may be caused by a corrupted or incompatible UI Automation package/resource.

As a quick check, can you try creating a Blank Process? If that works, please also share your exact UiPath Studio version and project compatibility (Windows or Windows-Legacy).

Hope this helps!

Hi @NiesonF,

The error:

Could not find resource UiPath.uiautomationnext.properties

makes me think the first thing to establish is whether this is a Studio-version compatibility issue or a damaged/missing package resource.

Since your Studio version appears to be out of support, I’d test that first rather than changing several things at once.

I’d suggest:

  1. Confirm the exact Studio version.

  2. Create a completely blank project.

  3. Check whether the blank project opens and runs normally.

  4. Check the installed UiPath.UIAutomation.Activities version.

  5. If possible, reproduce the REFramework template creation on a currently supported Studio version.

If the blank project works but the REFramework template fails, that points more strongly toward the template/package compatibility rather than a general Studio installation problem.

If the same error occurs across templates/projects, then I’d investigate the local NuGet/package cache and Studio installation.

The exact Studio version plus project compatibility (Windows / Windows-Legacy) would help narrow this down.
