We are in the process of segregating our bots to different folders based on the teams they are used for. For this I have created multiple folders in Orchestrator.
I am trying to add the two bot accounts to each of the folder. The first account is getting added. However when we try to add the second account we get the following error.
Could you check in case you are using the Classic folder each folder for classic robots, it might be that the account you are trying to add is being used under a classic robot and these will not show up under the manage access menu.
Go to Tenant → Default (or other folder name) → Robots.
You may receive an error like “The account already exists. (#1004)” when you will try to create/add a new Robot/user with the same email address.
UiPath recommends having a unique and valid email address for each user.
If you played with that impacted user multiple times in the past in the account and groups and changed its details and assigned it to some folders, there can be chances that some old information is still cached in some tables and you got the error in UI.
In this case, the only solution will be to delete the user from Orchestrator, then delete it from your organization and re-invite him/her/it again and assign it to the correct folder. You can use the same credentials as before for him.
Important note: The Groups are working only for assigning licenses to users/robots. You will need to assign the roles directly to users in each folder individually, not to the groups, as the permissions are not inherited.
