UiPath Test Cloud vs Automation Cloud Test Manager – Licensing, Autopilot, and Feature Comparison

We are currently using UiPath Automation Cloud.
We’ve provisioned licenses for UiPath Flex Tester Named, 50 UiPath Flex Unattended Robot Test licenses, and unlimited UiPath Flex Test Manager.
The TAM team is suggesting we move to UiPath Test Cloud.
I noticed Autopilot is available in Test Manager within the Automation Cloud SaaS instance.
What are the additional benefits or advantages of Test Cloud compared to Test Manager?
Please advise.

Hello @Abhinavpandey

Basic Difference :

UiPath Test Manager manages test cases, test sets, and links them to requirements.

UiPath Test Cloud provides scalable test execution for multiple environments.

scalable test execution for multiple environments. Can you explain with example. here in test manager on automation cloud, i can run test set on multiple environment. dev, uat, prod just chnaging the urls

You can run it on Dev, UAT, Prod by changing the application URL in your test data or config.

Rajesh Rane

ya so why should we move to test cloud? then

Hi @Abhinavpandey,

Is your question: “What are the benefits of using Test Manager?”

Best regards

no. my question is difference between test manager on automation cloud and test cloud alone what it brings to table

Hi @Abhinavpandey

In the simplest form, I would say

Test Manager = Test Organizer (plan, track, analyze)

Test Cloud = Test Executor (run tests in the cloud)

Question - what is your requirement? Why TAM suggested you the test cloud?

We can run the test set from test manager in automation cloud as well

Ya that what I m trying to understand why is he suggesting test cloud is it something extra we get or it is n just the same with more cost

Hi @Abhinavpandey

You can run your test set from test manager because you have linked your test cases there but execution happens in orchestrator/test cloud only.

You just get to mange your test cases, see their results etc and even start the execution from test manager like you said.

Based on what you have already, it would be worthwhile to understand from TAM in what do they think you guys should got for test cloud. What extra features will you get with it? And then you will be able to compare with what you have already and accordingly make a decision.

Automation Cloud Test Manager is designed primarily for RPA testing, making it ideal for evaluating or testing your robotic process automation workflows.

In contrast, Test Cloud Test Manager focuses on application testing. If you need to test business applications such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, web apps, and similar platforms, Test Cloud Test Manager is the recommended option.

Autopilot is going to be available in both instances, but as the new features within Test Manager being developed, the emphasis will be on Test Cloud Test Manager. Hope it makes sense.

Test Cloud acts as a ‘skin’ of Automation Cloud (similar to switching between light and dark mode in a software application), tailored for Application Testing. The overall architecture is preserved when a test case is executed, it interacts with the Orchestrator to identify available Test Robots and runs the job on those robots. Test Robots can be located either in the Cloud or on-prem. After execution, the results are sent back to Test Manager.

Hi @ajay.jagtap

That makes so much sense now! Thank you for providing details, this helped me understand the difference better.
