UiPath Studio Is Unresponsive Or Lagging

Why does UiPath Studio go unresponsive for longer duration or lag when performing any actions?

Issue Description: When interacting with Studio and developing a project Studio Freezes the window from performing further actions or lags between one action to another ending with an error message "UiPath has stopped working, restart or wait."

Root Cause:

  • When Studio machine does not meet the Software & Hardware requirement.
  • If the Disk Space is full.
    • Look for the Event Name - "AppHangTransient" in Studio Machine Event Viewer logs.

Resolution:

  1. Make sure that the Hardware & Software requirements are met on the Studio machine.
  2. Perform a Disk Cleanup or move files to a different drive.

Disk Cleanup(May require Administrator rights)
  1. Press Win+E to open File Explorer. Also click on the File Explore icon from the Taskbar to do the same.
  2. Do a click on This PC from the left column. Thereafter, right click on C: drive and select Properties.


  1. On the following wizard, perform a click on Disk Cleanup.


  1. A pop up will appear that shows the scanning process.


  1. Within a few seconds, it will be done and it is possible to view Disk Cleanup for (C:) Wizard. Check the boxes for each and every item located under Files to delete section. Click Ok.


  1. One last prompt-up will be visible in the display for final confirmation. Click on Delete files to give consent.
