User is not able to install ui path in their system
Issue Description
While installing UiPath Studio, the installer exits with the below error message:
"Could not remove all of the detected orphaned items. The installer will exit."
Resolution
- Manually Remove Scheduled Task:
-
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type taskschd.msc and press Enter to open the Windows Task Scheduler (or open from Windows search in the PC).
- In the Task Scheduler, navigate to the Task Scheduler Library on the left pane.
- Look for the “UipathRobotJS” task in the list of tasks. If you find it, right-click on it and select “Delete”.
- Delete any other UiPath scheduled tasks as well, if any.
- Clean Temporary Files: delete any temporary files related to UiPath that might be left in the %LocalAppData% and %ProgramData% directories.
- Install UiPath Studio again; it should get installed without any issues.
Starting the 24.10 version, the Studio MSI installer performs an additional cleanup step, removing files, settings, and scheduled tasks stored by previous failed installations.
