While upgrading the studio to a newer version, why does the upgrade fail with an error: "UiPath Studio -- Error 1714. The older version of UiPath Studio cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612"?
Issue Description:
During the process of upgrading UiPath Studio, the upgrade might fail and present the following error message:
"UiPath Studio -- Error 1714. The older version of UiPath Studio cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612."
Root Cause:
UiPath Studio, at the time of installation, stores the MSI file in the Windows Installer cache. This cached file is essential for any later uninstallation or upgrade of UiPath Studio. The upgrade error usually occurs if this MSI installer file is missing from the cache.

- Visit the official UiPath source(Customer Portal) and download the MSI installer of the current version of UiPath Studio.
- Right-click the downloaded MSI and select Uninstall to eliminate the existing version.
- Once the uninstallation is successful, you can proceed to install the desired, updated version of UiPath Studio.

If the above-mentioned procedure doesn't resolve the issue, then follow these steps:
- Download the MSI installer specific to the current version of UiPath Studio from the official site.
- Navigate to the Control Panel on the server where UiPath Studio is installed.
- Locate UiPath Studio in the application list and select 'Uninstall'.
- A new window will appear, prompting you to locate the MSI, as it can't be identified.
- Click 'Browse' and navigate to the location where the downloaded MSI installer is located.
Note: It's highly recommended to avoid storing installers in user-specific directories, particularly during the installation process. Local drives that are accessible to all users are the preferred locations.
- Once the UiPath Studio has been uninstalled successfully, you can proceed with the installation of the newer version.
