How can I fix the UiPath Robot Credential Retrieval Failure Due to Unauthorized Access and Expired Authentication Token in Delinea SecretServer?
Issue Description
The UiPath Robots integrated with Delinea Secret Server for credential retrieval may fail to obtain credentials during runtime. This failure is typically accompanied by error messages indicating either:
- Unauthorized Access
- Expired Authentication Token
Root Cause
This issue arises due to incompatibility between the currently used version of the SecretServer.SecureStore.dll file and updated security requirements or token expiration handling in the Delinea Secret Server.
As a result, the UiPath Robot is unable to authenticate with the Secret Server API, leading to runtime failures when accessing stored credentials.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, update the integration DLL file with the latest version provided by Delinea.
- Download the latest DLL
- Get the latest SecretServer.SecureStore.dll (version 2.5.0 or later) from the official Delinea documentation: Delinea UiPath Integration Setup.
- Replace the existing DLL
- Navigate to the UiPath plugin directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Orchestrator\plugins).
- Replace the existing SecretServer.SecureStore.dll with the downloaded one.
- Perform IIS Reset
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
- Run the command:
iisreset
