UiPath Extension with no Group Policy rules

If the UiPath browser extension goes missing a few hours or days after installation, verify the following setting in UiPath Studio:
Navigate to Tools → UiPath Extensions.
If the dropdown for the extension is set to “Group Policy Offline”, change it to “All Users” or “Current User” and install the extension to ensure it is retained correctly. You will need admin privileges to perform this task.

We had multiple discussions with our internal IT teams regarding the missing UiPath browser extension, and each time it was confirmed that there were no Group Policy (GP) rules restricting browser extensions. However, further investigation revealed that this configuration setting was the underlying root cause of the issue.

You don’t need administrator privileges to install the Edge/Chrome extension per user.
For all the other options, you need administrator privileges.

If you have the extension missing, either the browser user profile folder for the extensions gets removed/cleared or you have a policy for Edge/Chrome that forces the installation of only some specific extensions, and UiPath gets removed automatically.

We do get prompted for Admin privileges to install the extension per user. I guess it depends on the org policy.
