How do you resolve the "UiPath.Core.BusinessRuleException: No Transaction present in the job tracker Queue to Process" error while running a job?
Background
In UiPath Orchestrator, queues are containers that hold an unlimited number of items. These items are utilized by robots based on the specific needs of each organization.
The transactional process of data retrieval and processing happens rapidly at both the UiPath robot and network levels, requiring constant communication between the robot machine and the Orchestrator.
Issue Description
As a UiPath Developer/Administrator, you may encounter an error where jobs fail with the following message:
However, the queue in Orchestrator contains new items that should have been processed; therefore, this error should not have occurred.
Resolution
To prevent this issue, ensure proper transaction management in the UiPath Studio workflow by following these steps:
- Open the workflow file that is failing in UiPath Studio.
- Add a Get Queue Items activity to the workflow and create its Output Variable (IEnumerable<QueueItem> type) to store the queue items retrieved.
- This activity retrieves a list of queue items (not transactions yet) from a specified Orchestrator queue based on multiple filters.
- Add a For Each activity and use the output variable from the Get Queue Items activity to loop through the items within the collection.
- Inside the For Each activity, add the Get Transaction Item activity to retrieve from the Orchestrator queue and initiate the transaction by setting its status to "In Progress".
- Note: This activity converts the queue item into an active transaction that can be processed.
Additional Recommendations:
- Error Handling: Consider using a Try-Catch block to provide robust exception management.
- Retry Logic: Implement retry logic using the Retry Scope activity, which allows the process to retry a certain number of times in case of failures before throwing an error.
- If the issue persists, contact the organization's IT department and the UiPath Support Team for assistance. Further investigation into network settings or process logic may be required.
