(Note: This is tested on version 23.10 Studio)

Resolution Steps:

  1. Install native host:

      2. From Chrome Extensions: Select from the dropdown "Native Host Only"

  1. The other way is to run the command in CMD: "C:\Program Files\UiPath\Studio\UiPath\SetupExtensions.exe" /chromenativehostglobal
  1. From the Island.io install the Extension:
    1. Open Island browser.
    2. Navigate to "https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/uipath-web-automation/jfcmnbofjlffnejneillkgbniiidiigd"
    3. Click “Add to Island”
    4. Restart Browser.
      • Note: Extension ID "jfcmnbofjlffnejneillkgbniiidiigd" needs to be whitelisted by the Organization Administrator
  1. To confirm the extension works properly, “webctrl” tag should be found in selectors
    • For example, if one navigates to "www.google.com" and tries to indicate the colored logo above the search bar, a similar selector to “” should be obtained.

There are multiple methods of installation for the browser extension via user , machine or group policy level. The entries in the registry key to reference the native host executable is dependent on the method of installation of the extension.

  • For example, when the extension is installed from the studio, we can install it on the user level which will add a registry key value in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry keys directory.

If the method of installation is different, use a Process Monitor Tool (ProcMon) which will be able to identify where the browser is looking in the registry keys (should be same location as other non-UiPath Extensions).
