UIPath Assistant and bots (have to reinstall bot each time run)

Hello, So we are using UiPath assistant over VDI. All machines have the same VDI image and have UiPath Assistant installed. When they go into UiPath assistant, and click on the bot, it reinstalls the bot before it will allow them to run it. What step are we missing to make it where they go into UiPath, the Bot is ready to run. It is not connected to Orchestrator. Will that fix the issue? thanks!

So in the image only UiPath assistant is presnet or even the service mode bot is also saved in it?

UiPath Service Host is not running.
they are also stating this:
The UiPath assistant is decompressing the code into another folder (%USERPROFILE%.nuget\Packages) upon install that we believe my not be persisted.
we have told them in the past to use a shared folder that we have set up and not the user folder on the VDI. It is wiped or items cannot be saved there.
everything else works from the shared folder.
But they say they do not know how to update UiPath to put the code in that folder.
any thoughts?
