Typing "browser" or "mainframe" in package manager should yield a search result

In manage packages > official, if someone types “browser” or “mainframe” you should find a way to return the correct package (i.e. UiAutomation or Terminal) as a search result.

If I type “pdf” in package manager, I see a result
If I type “excel” in package manager, I see a result

Searching for browser or mainframe in the official feed should be just as easy. Probably other examples like this I’m overlooking… but these would be an obvious good start.

Your response might be “well you can already do that in the Studio activities panel, and if you drag one of the ‘available’ items in, it will install the correct package”.

That may be true… but that approach forces someone to install the latest package version, which they might not want for various reasons.

Now you’re forcing them to have to check to see which package was auto-installed (not intuitive in the case of browser, since the package makes no mention of “browser”)… and then you force them to have to right click that package to go into the package manager and pull down an earlier version that might be better.

If they could more easily find it in the initial package manager search, they could avoid the runaround of getting the wrong version and being forced to figure out which package was pulled down, and update it.

I think there are worse issues in the search functionality in the package feed and the way search results are displayed and tags used should be looked at.

For example the package UiPath.MicrosoftOffice365.Activities is awful to find as it appears as ‘Microsoft 365’ rather than the actual name, the search function is trash too because you can often search for the exact name of your package but it ends up being the 20th result (this is usually with third party .NET packages).

This is in contrast to say Visual Studio where if you do the exact same search the package with the matching name comes first.
I have no clue how they prioritize the searching for packages in Studio, but I don’t feel it works as well as it should.
