Trying to assign robot role to new user

I am following a UiPath tutorial. It says To assign a role, we’ll go to ‘Assign roles’ and select ‘User’.
Here we must type in the name of the newly added user. And let’s provide the ‘Robot’ role.
This is a mixed role and includes both tenant and folder permissions.
Since this step is not required here for us, let’s skip the robot setup and continue to assign the role.
And here it is. We can now see in the list the Robot role assigned to the new user.

I do not see this. When I go to Tenant/Manage Access/Access rules/user I don’t have the option to assign a Robot role, so I picked robot permissions and just created a name for those capabilities. I don’t know if this is going to accomplish the same thing.

Hey @aduffey,

In the latest UiPath Automation Cloud versions, the predefined “Robot” role is no longer available, and you must create a custom role with the required robot permissions. Assign this custom role to the user under Tenant → Manage Access. This achieves the same effect as the old Robot role.

Thank you so very much. Turns out I did that. At first when I ran it in assistant, assistant said that the user didn’t have the robot role, but when I tried the desktop version, the process worked! Thank you for confirming that I was on the right track!

@aduffey,

If it’s help you then please mark as solution.
Happy automation.

@aduffey,

You don’t need to create a custom role for this. Just assign Automation User role and that should be fine to run the Automations.
