How to use the Automation Express license for an On-Premise installation of StudioX?
Issue Description
Older versions of UiPath Studio (22.4 or lower) on an On-Premises setup may experience an issue when utilizing the Automation Express license type, which provides access to StudioX and Studio Web. Upon signing into StudioX or Assistant to obtain the license, these applications may close unexpectedly without any warning or error messages. This occurs due to the inability of older StudioX versions to interpret the newly introduced Automation Express license type, resulting in a crash post sign-in.
Root Cause
The introduction of the Automation Express license type occurred after the StudioX 22.4 release. Therefore, earlier versions of the product do not recognize this license type, leading to a crash after sign-in.
Resolution
Resolution involves downloading and installing a more recent version of UiPath StudioX (22.10 or higher). Following sign-in, Orchestrator should allocate the Automation Express license without issue, and the StudioX profile will load.
