At UiPath, we conduct an annual survey called “State of the AI and Automation Professionals Survey” to reveal the current state, changes, and future expectations of automation and AI in the workplace.
This survey has been conducted globally since 2020, and the 2026 edition marks the 7th year.
In recent years, the environment surrounding automation has changed significantly. In addition to rule-based automation centered around RPA and API integration, there is an increasing interest in AI agents, agentic automation, and process orchestration that connects multiple systems, people, and AI.
On the other hand, when it comes to incorporating AI into business operations, challenges such as how to utilize it in a production environment rather than just experiments or PoCs, how to ensure reliability, and how to address governance and security concerns have become crucial.
This year’s survey will not only cover the utilization of AI and automation but will also inquire about changes in your role, necessary skills, learning methods, support systems within your organization, and engagement with the UiPath community.

We will ask widely not only about the usage of specific products but also how AI and automation are integrated into practice, what challenges are faced, and what support and learning opportunities are needed.

Your voices will contribute to the 2026 report
The responses will be anonymized and aggregated, and then compiled into the 2026 report.
The final report will not only help you grasp the latest trends in AI and automation but also provide insights to compare your own initiatives with those of global automation professionals.
Furthermore, gathering many voices from Japan may reveal regional trends as well.
