Top 3 differences between a developer in Japan and in France

While discussing with UiPath Friends in Japan, I noticed differences on daily basis:

:point_right: How to learn using UiPath Studio ?
We both use online resources (UiPath academy, Udemy, Coursera, YouTube). But there are also:

France: Company trainings, bootcamps
Japan: Books

:point_right: How to newtork with my pairs ?

France: LinkedIn or Whatsapp
I remember having a course at my engineering school to learn creating a LinkedIn account

Japan: Wantedly or X (Twitter)
As I don’t have X it was hard to find other ways to keep in touch with my new japanese friends ! Now considering to create one.

:point_right: How to rest ?

France: 25 days off + 10 compensatory days off (RTT in french) + 11 public days = 46 days on average
The balance between work and personal life is very important. It would be scandalous to receive a call after working hours or week-end !

Japan: 10 days off + 16 public days = 26 days on average
Culturally days off are not fully taken, developers often think twice because of the workload impact on the colleagues or managers.

Have you heard of other differences ?
On these points is it also different in your country ?

Who am I ?

I am Hiba :maple_leaf:
I enjoy watching animes and korean drama, playing chess or picking fruits.
And I work at Safran as an Automation Tech Lead (technical & strategy stuff)

In September, follow me on this short travel diary: Hiba in Japan
