To automate a workflow through a remote desktop, are there alternatives besides Citrix automation?

Hi,

I have to automate a workflow in which one of the applications is only accessible through a remote desktop connection.

I’ve already found lots of information on citrix automation to do this (automation based on image recognition, OCR, keyboard strokes, etc.). However, I was wondering whether there are alternatives that I’m not aware of.

For our Windows Virtual Machines if you develop the program with a UiPath Studio that is on the VM, then you have full UI access to all the necessary elements and can use Web Recording, Desktop Recording, Data Scraping etc…
