Title: How to mask the password field in UiPath Solution Apps?

Hi everyone,

I am currently developing a login page in UiPath Solution Apps. I have added a password input field, but the password is currently displayed as plain text while typing.

I would like to mask the password characters (for example, display •••••• instead of the actual password).

Could anyone please guide me on how to configure the password field to hide/mask the entered value in UiPath Solution Apps?

Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

@Shreeya_Joshi

Create a variable, let say variable name is Password.
Then check for Custom html control.
Under the Custom Html>General> click on Open code editor
Under that you can able to find Html, css and JavaScript.

In HTML enter below code

And in css section
.field {
display:flex;
flex-direction:column;
gap:6px;
}
label {
font-family:Arial, sans-serif;
font-size:14px;
}
input {
width:100%;
box-sizing:border-box;
padding:10px;
border:1pxsolid#999;
border-radius:4px;
font-size:14px;
}
And in submit button you can add your validation for successful login or failure login.
Note: password will be stored in **Password** Variable
This is i followed if you want to change any style you can edit the CSS based on your comfort.
Let me know if this works.
If you can’t get this let me know I will share the sample app

Hi @Shreeya_Joshi,

For a login page, the password should ideally use a Password input/control instead of a normal Text Input.

Please check the properties of the input control and see if there is an option such as Input Type, Password, or Mask input. If available, set it to Password so the entered characters are displayed as dots/bullets instead of plain text.

If the current Text Input control does not support password masking, you may need to use a dedicated password control or check the latest Solution Apps features/documentation.

Also, make sure not to store or log the password as plain text.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Shreeya_Joshi

Yes, this is possible. In UiPath Apps, select the password input control and check its properties for the Input Type option. Set it to Password instead of Text.

This will mask the entered characters as •••••• while typing.

Hi @Shreeya_Joshi ,
Try these following steps:

  1. Select the password field in Solution Apps Designer.
  2. Check the field properties/settings.
  3. Change the input type from Text to Password.
  4. Save and publish the app.

If the Password option is not available:

  • Use a secure credential collection method supported by Solution Apps.
  • Consider storing credentials in Orchestrator Assets or using an Action App pattern where sensitive data is handled securely.

Thanks
