When CJK-OCR is used in Automation Suite > AI Center > Data Labelling > Document Manager, PDF file import is slow, and large file (than 30 pages) failed.

Issue

When CJK-OCR is used in Automation Suite > AI Center > Data Labelling > Document Manager, PDF file import is slow, and large file (than 30 pages) failed.

Environment

  • Air-gapped AS 23.4.5, multi-nodes (3 server nodes + 1 agent node) hosted in VMWare environment
  • Applications Installed in Automation Suite platform: Orchestrator + AI Center + Document Understanding + Action Center
  • Each node has 20*CPU and 40GB RAM

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Run iperf tool shows the network throughput is normal between the nodes
  • Run fio tool shows disk read/write speed is normal on each node
  • Issue can not be reproduced on other environments with same infra and same Automation Suite version
  • no error observed in browser har file
  • Timeout error message observed in du-digitizer pod:

Resolution

Increase VMware CPU allocation limit of resource pool (from 20GHz to 70GHz in this example) and avoid hosting all node servers in same VMware resource pool.
