Why do the integrations stop working when the TaskTop is running in Safe mode?
Issue Description
When Planview starts in Safe Mode after a system restart, all integrations stop working, preventing data synchronization and causing workflow disruptions. This can impact productivity and create delays in automated processes.
Root Cause
The issue occurs because Planview may be set to start in Safe Mode due to a registry value configuration or an incorrect startup selection, specifically, the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\Tasktop\Parameters\Start
If this value is set to true, Planview will always start in Safe Mode, preventing integrations from running. Additionally, selecting the wrong option when Planview starts can also trigger Safe Mode, further contributing to the issue.
Solution
To resolve the issue and ensure that integrations work correctly, follow these steps:
Step 1: Check and Modify the Registry Key
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press 'Enter' to open the 'Windows Registry Editor'.
- Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\Tasktop\Parameters\Start
- Locate the Start value.
- If it is set to true, double-click on it and change the value to false.
- Click 'OK' and close the Registry Editor.
Step 2: Select the Correct Option When Starting Planview
- Restart the system if necessary.
- When launching Planview, ensure that you select the normal startup mode instead of Safe Mode.
- Verify that integrations are running correctly.
Step 3: Restart and Validate
- Restart your device to confirm that Planview starts normally.
- Check the integration logs to ensure that all services are running properly.
- If the issue persists, recheck the registry setting and confirm that no system policies or third-party applications are forcing Planview to start in Safe Mode.
Conclusion
By ensuring that the registry value is correctly set to false and selecting the appropriate startup mode, Planview can be prevented from launching in Safe Mode unintentionally. This will restore full integration functionality and avoid unnecessary disruptions.
