As the title says, I am suddenly unable to create variables in my projects.
First noticed when I tried to create a new variable in a Get Text activity, it gives me the warning “Argument ‘Text’: BC30451: ‘Get_Text_Granssnitt’ is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level. Variable ‘Text’ is missing. Please use Data Manager to recreate it.”
Naturally I go to the data manager to recreate it and the Create Variable popup shows up just fine but after I fill it in and hit ok, nothing happens. There simply no new variable in my list, even after refreshing the data manager.
Also tried using the Set Variable Value activity to create it but I just get an almost identical error as the first one: “Argument ‘Text’: BC30451: ‘Get_Text_Granssnitt’ is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level. Variable ‘To’ is missing. Please use Data Manager to recreate it.”
I’ve restarted both Studio and my computer. I’ve tried this in several of my projects and the results are the same.
Hi @Mikael.Tea
Might be some temporary glitches happen.Try to clear UiPath cache then restart Studio. If the issue remains, create a new project and copy your workflows. Also try deleting .screenshots and .local folders in the project.
Happy Automation
@Mikael.Tea,
What’s the Studio version you are using? If it’s Community version, try degrading the packages version to older versions like 24.10.*
No luck, I’m afraid.
Cleared cache, deleted the specified folders and tried a new project but the same issue persists.
I also checked in with a co-worker and he has the exact same problem.
We’re on an enterprise license and on whatever the latest update is. Is downgrading a viable solution here as well?
@Mikael.Tea,
Not sure on the enterprise release but give it a try. Generally it’s not a good practice to downgrade the package version but here I’m suggesting this to see if this is happening due to any uncovered bug in the latest package version.
ohho then you can raise a ticket to UiPath!
@Mikael.Tea this may helps you
- Try
Ctrl + K in the Expression Editor to create a variable directly.
- Check
.xaml file for broken <Variable> or <Argument> tags using Notepad or VS Code.
- Delete
project.json and .local folder, then reopen the project.
- Create a new blank project to test if the issue is project-specific.
- Update UiPath Studio to the latest version.
- Repair UiPath Studio via Control Panel → Change → Repair.
- Reset Studio Settings: Delete
%appdata%\UiPath\UiPath.settings.
I also have the same issue for StudioX. I can’t create a new variable under the Activity and under Data Manager
Hi @Mikael.Tea ,
Thank you for flagging this, we are working on fixing this issue in a new release. Apologies for the inconvenience!
