StudioX freezing on any project

For the past few days, StudioX has been running very slow and eventually freezing, regardless of the project. I can’t use it anymore.
I’ve reinstalled the Studio and downgraded dependencies, but nothing seems to help.
I’ve noticed in Task Manager that when I start working on the project, the Memory and CPU usage starts increasing and keeps on this way until project freezes and finally I need to stop it forcefully. Process name that uses the memory is UiPath.Studio.Project.
Worth mentioning that the projects aren’t new, I’ve worked on them before, and everything was working fine.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? And what could be the solution?

yes, I am a community user, and the StudioX version is 2024.10.5.

Hi @Mircea_Urda , does this occur on all projects or only specific projects? Does it occur on a new project for example?

Hi, it occurs on many projects, it’s not related to the project. I didn’t notice for new projects because I was just working to edit some of them.
And it started last week, i’ve noticed in the weekend this behavior.
It freezes and uses all Memory and Ram, don’t know if you can see the picture I’ve pasted in here.
The image shows the Task Manager processes tab where "UiPath.Studio.Project" is using 16.7% CPU and 18,256.6 MB of memory, and another UiPath Studio process is running with no significant resource usage. (Captioned by AI)

Are there any big size files involved in the automation? Like you are reading them and holding for further processing?

Hi @ashokkarale,

not really, I use some XLS files while executing the process, but the problem with freezing happens at design time. And the projects are not that complex.
For instance, here is the project size when I open it (see below picture). Then, even when I start scrolling through activities it starts freezing and the usage of resources increase continuously up to the moment it becomes not responsive … I guess something is blocking it but can’t figure what.

And, as said before, these are old projects that I have worked on and were fine. Something changed in the last week.

Hi @Raluca_Laic , sure, but please help me with an indication about how can I share the project? I have tried to pack it (.zip) and it has 13Mb the smallest (too large to load it here). The second project is 23Mb packed.
I have checked and both of them contain some large data base files ‘references.db’. May this files be the problem for lagging and freezing?
