Studio sign in via Service URL

I am new user to UI Path and wanted to downloaded it locally to my computer just because I hate working through the browser. I was able to get it installed but when I go to try and use the url sign in no new window is created in chrome for me to put in my login creds. I have verfified that the extension is in chrome and enabled.

Can you please show what URL you are using to sign in?

Please note it should be like below for sign in:

https://cloud.uipath.com/{{your org name goes here}}/{{your tenant name}}/orchestrator_/

Oh I see I was just using what the default was. I don’t know exactly what all of these are saved at in the cloud, is there a certain page I can just go to on the browser and then just copy and paste that url in?

When you go to your automation cloud account, you can see organization name in the url itself right after the could.uipath.com and tenant will show on right side of the screen just like below.

I do not have the Tenant drop down next to my profile. It just goes question mark to profile. However, when I click on certain links I see that I have “DefaultTenant” listed in some places. Is this what I should put in that area?

yes, thats because you only have 1 tenant.

when I put in all the correct information in this format

and press sign in nothing is exectuing.

Can you please show where are you putting this url for sign in?

Are you doing this via assistant? If not, please do this via UiPath assistant

I was originally trying to do this in the studio (refer to second image). When I open my Assistant the get started icon only pulls up a pop-up saying to sign-in. When I go to the profile icon in the top right and click sign-in nothing happens.

Please click on your profile icon->preferences->orchestrator settings-> select service url as connection type, then provide the url and sign in.

I did those steps, but am still having a weird issue of the sign-in not wanting to execute when I press the icon.

are any of the other connection types an option? Machine key or Client ID

Can you please try with url and see if this works?

Also, please confirm you are logged in to this machine with the user that is added in orchestrator and has required permissions?

And yes, you can login via machine key as well, please add your machine in orchestrator, retrieve the machine key and then provide the same in assistant to login.

I am able to click on the first link. But I am unsure on how to verify my orchestrator has the required permissions.

Along the other options some of the steps differ slightly but I was able to get a Client ID and Client secret. However when I input these into the UI Assistant I got the following error message

“The operation has timed out.
Use the UiPath Diagnostic Tool to collect usage data so our support team can troubleshoot the issue”

I know this is a forums page but at this point I wonder if it would just be easier if a representative for UI Path could hop on a call with myself to get the install complete.

open settings on your laptop and check what is your default browser..generally the sign in opens the default browser itself..and change it to whatever you need

You’re nearly done with the login process.
Just sign in to your cloud account in your default browser and keep it open. In UiPath Assistant, add the service URL “https://cloud.uipath.com” and click Login.

This will redirect you to your default browser, where you need to select “Open UiPath” on the popup.

Once done, your UiPath Assistant will be connected to the cloud and properly licensed.

After connecting your UiPath Assistant, Studio will open without asking you to log in again.

Mark it as the solution if it resolves your query.

Thank you that seemed to be the issue. It was weird edge was the default but it wasn’t opening in edge, changed the default in chrome then had no problem
