Facing issues while installing studio downloaded from UiPath Cloud download portal.
Have uninstalled the studio as well as clean all references and folders manually to retry installing.
Any help appreciated

changed path to MSI installer

hi @Aniket_Doke,

This looks like a Windows Installer (MSI) issue where it’s trying to find the original UiPathStudio.msi from a previous installation. If that MSI is no longer available, the install/uninstall can get stuck.

I’d recommend first running Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter to clean up the broken installer entry. After that, restart the machine and try installing Studio again.

If the issue persists, could you share:

  • Are you installing the EXE or MSI?
  • Is this a fresh install or an upgrade?
  • Does UiPath Studio still appear in Apps & Features?

Hi @Aniket_Doke
Welcome to community!

Pls check below thread:

Happy Automation

  1. Previous version is 25.0.161 and I faced issue while updating the studio, so I deleted all folders manually and trying ti install latest version of studio 26
  2. Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter– is not available for Windows 11
    • Are you installing the EXE or MSI? – UiPathPlatform.msi
    • Is this a fresh install or an upgrade? – Fresh as deleted old version
    • Does UiPath Studio still appear in Apps & Features?— No

Tried still not working

Hi @Aniket_Doke,

Since Studio no longer appears in Apps & Features, but the installer is still asking for UiPathStudio.msi, Windows Installer may still have a reference to the previous installation.

I’d recommend trying Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter. Although it’s an older utility, it still works on Windows 11 and can help remove orphaned Windows Installer entries.

If the issue persists, could you enable MSI logging (msiexec /i UiPathPlatform.msi /L*v install.log) and share the relevant errors? That would help identify what is preventing the installation.

hi @Aniket_Doke , just wanted to check where this version Studio is from as the latest community or STS releases have moved on from 25.0.161 to 26.0.196 or higher.

Please share UiPath Studio Community 25.0.161 installer

Try these commands in a PowerShell console as administrator:

Get-WmiObject Win32_Product | Where-Object { $_.Name -like '*UiPath*' } | Format-Table IdentifyingNumber, Name

or

Get-ItemProperty -Path 'HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\*', 'HKLM:\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\*' | Where-Object { $_.DisplayName -like '*UiPath*' } | Format-Table DisplayName, PSChildName

Then adjust the below command with your IdentifyingNumber or PSChildName value for the UiPath Platform/Robot/Studio:

msiexec /x {D0D55F9C-5F2B-4033-AB83-89985838B41A} /q

I was unable to uninstall UiPath Community 25.0.161.0 because Windows Installer kept showing this error:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Please provide the path to UiPath Studio.msi.

What I checked

  • Get-Package *UiPath* returned no results.
  • UiPath was not listed correctly in the installed packages.
  • The original MSI file was missing, so Windows Installer could not complete the uninstall.

Solution that worked

  1. Downloaded and installed Revo Uninstaller.
  2. Opened Revo Uninstaller and selected UiPath from the list of installed programs.
  3. Started the uninstall process. When the Windows Installer error appeared, I closed the error dialog.
  4. Revo detected that the normal uninstall had failed and prompted me to scan for leftover items.
  5. Ran an Advanced Scan in Revo.
  6. Selected all remaining registry entries related to UiPath and deleted them.
  7. Selected all leftover files and folders found by Revo and deleted them.
  8. Restarted the computer.
  9. Installed the latest version of UiPath, which completed successfully.

This completely removed the broken UiPath installation and allowed a clean installation without requiring the original UiPath Studio.msi file.

And latest version of UiPath Studio is ready to use
