I started using the Studio application about a month ago, i am using the desktop version, to pull reports from the web and save them into my files. Just as i am starting to get on a roll, with stars in my eyes envisioning all of the automations i can do, suddenly my Studio App thinks it is an Attended Robot and will not allow me to open/edit/run any of the projects that i have built. i confirmed that i have the free license.
how do i remove this “robot” flag and get back to using the program?

Check if in Orchestrator you assigned for your User an Automation Developer license in Admin → Licenses → Licenses allocated for Users or Groups
After adding the license, sign out from UiPath Assistant, sign back in, reopen UiPath Studio and retry to edit the project.
If you are on Free License, you can’t use Studio. You can only use StudioX. You will have to get on the Community license.
If you are on Community license, follow @marian.platonov’s solution.
That usually happens when Studio Desktop detects human interaction or is set up with the wrong robot type. Check your Orchestrator settings and make sure the machine is connected as Unattended instead of Attended. Restarting the Robot service can also help.

In the newer versions of Studio you cannot switch manually.
You need to unallocate from Orchestrator any license that provided access to Studio and you need to allocate one that provides access to StudioX.
Then you need to disconnect the robot from Orchestrator and Sign in back in.
Close and reopen Studio, and should be open in StudioX.
Switch between Studio and StudioX has been removed so we can’t switch in the latest version. The license allocated to the user will decide if Studio to open or StudioX.
Check the license allocated from the orchestrator.
