Maybe you don’t want feedback?
But here I am, using the same internet reporting that I can’t report ANOTHER bug dealing with Studio, Data Manager, and lack of global variables.
same from long time for 2023.10.9, tried from different user accounts and PCs, not working at all
Tested on 24.10.7. Still failing.
Can you share some details so we understand how to solve this?
- steps to reproduce
- a screenshot/video of the observed behaviour
- a project that can replicate the issue
Thank you @fred.bullmer for taking the time to share this bad experience with us.
Managed to replicate in-house the error with sending feedback. Will investigate and fix this in the next patch.
@fred.bullmer regarding the second issue that you mentioned in your post, Data Manager - Global Variables missing:
- is this issue still replicable on 24.10.7?
We had a bug in 24.10.6 that we fixed in 24.10.7 where Global Variables disappear from Data Manager when navigating away from the file where it was initially created.
The workaround was to press the Group items by Scope button in Data Manager to display back the Global Variables.
If still replicable, please send us some details on how to replicate this in-house.
Than you,
Alex Bizon
Thanks Alex,
I did notice a huge improvement with the Global Variables!
Someone may want to rebuild the “RetryCurrentTransaction.xaml” in the REF template though because it doesn’t seem to want to access Global variables. Perhaps it’s never been rebuilt since the Legacy → Windows conversion? Specifically trying replace in_Config() with a Global Config in a Log Message activity. I can pick a global from the use variables option in the editor, but then it doesn’t like it.
I’m sorry this thread is addressing two issues. Thanks for recreating the Sending Feedback issue. It’s still there in 2024.10.8 as well.
