How to store a single value asset in secure string form on the orchestrator like the app key or tenant key? Credentials facilitate storage of username and password but what if only a single value needs to be stored on orchestrator and that too in secure format?

There is no option to store secure string in assets…you can use different encryption methods like base64 encryption in your code for encoding and decoding purposes
