The solution is to manually edit your project’s JSON file to force it to use a specific version of the ClosedXML library that is compatible with the Write Range activity.
Open Project Folder: In UiPath Studio, right-click your project in the Project panel and select “Open Project Folder.”
Edit project.json: Open the project.json file in a text editor like Notepad.
Modify Dependencies: Find the "dependencies" section and add a new line to explicitly set the ClosedXML version. The square brackets [ ] are essential as they lock the version.For example, change this:JSON"dependencies": { "UiPath.Excel.Activities": "[2.20.1]", "UiPath.MicrosoftOffice365.Activities": "[2.5.1]" },To this:JSON"dependencies": { "ClosedXML": "[0.95.4]", "UiPath.Excel.Activities": "[2.20.1]", "UiPath.MicrosoftOffice365.Activities": "[2.5.1]" },
Save and Reload: Save the project.json file. When you return to UiPath Studio, it will prompt you to reload the project. Click Reload. The error will be resolved.
Why This Works
This is a classic dependency conflict. The Excel.Activities package depends on an older version of the ClosedXML library. The MicrosoftOffice365.Activities package requires a much newer one. Your project can only use one, so it defaults to the newer version, which breaks the Excel activities because a function they need was removed. This manual edit forces the project to use the older, compatible version, resolving the conflict.
