I go into the process directory and open the “. screenshots” subdirectory locate the screenshot I want and edit it using paint if I want to add or remove information.
Thanks for this! Very helpful. You can even include custom informative screenshots if you rename your custom image to the same as the one associated to the activity. Great workaround for the missing flexibility in studio.
Not all Activities have the ability to add screenshots. If they do you will see a message in the activity “Indicate on screen” (outlined in red) in below examples.
For an existing activity that has lost its screenshot, use the 3 bars (circled in green), this will open a menu that will allow the selection of a new screenshot (outlined in green) each has a slightly different selection method.
I’m okay with the workaround but I want to set a screenshot for an activity where I pass a a dynamic selector with a variable. I cannot indicate and change the screenshot all the time for all activities in the project.
So the improvement will be a good thing for the activities.
I understand that you would need to set a screenshot for a modern UI activity where you use a dynamic selector passed through a variable.
For Classic activities, when no screenshot is attached to the activity we have the option “Set Informative Screenshot”, which also works for a dynamic selector. After setting a screenshot (with this option or by indicating a target), we have the options “Change Informative Screenshot”/“Remove Informative Screenshot” to update it.
But you are right, we don’t have the “Set Informative Screenshot” option for the Modern activities. I’ll take your suggestion into the backlog for assessment and prioritization.
