I recently completed the UiPath Standalone Infrastructure Exam – Part 1 (lab-based). This was my second attempt, and I completed all the mentioned tasks inside the provided virtual machines and validated configurations within the given timeframe.
Based on the work done, I was expecting a much higher score (close to 100%), but received 40%, with no task-wise or section-wise breakdown explaining what was considered incomplete or incorrect.
For a hands-on lab exam, this is challenging because:
• A single percentage score doesn’t help candidates understand what went wrong
• Task or section-wise feedback (SQL, IIS, Orchestrator, certificates, robot connectivity, etc.) would significantly help candidates learn and improve
• Other UiPath MCQ-based exams provide detailed section-wise score reports, so it’s unclear why similar transparency isn’t available for lab-based exams
During the exam, I also received inactivity pop-up warnings. These were warnings only, and since I was actively working inside the VMs and the exam had limited time, I acknowledged them and continued. This later raised questions about how activity inside the VM is tracked and reflected in the automated evaluation.
I raised support tickets with both Pearson VUE and UiPath seeking clarity. Pearson VUE indicated that server-side logs could be shared if requested by UiPath, while UiPath indicated that such validation was not possible. This left no clear path to technically validate what was executed inside the lab environment.
I’ve invested significant time and focused preparation, and my intent is simply to understand expectations and improve with clarity.
If anyone has recently completed and passed this exam, I’d really appreciate it if you could reach out or share your experience.
Hoping UiPath and Pearson VUE can consider adding section-wise or task-wise results (or clearer validation mechanisms) for lab-based exams to improve transparency and learning for candidates
