SAP GUI problem - Can not communicate

Hi Team,

I buit an automaton using SAP GUI and I was able to indicate Ui Element on screen on SAP GUI interface from last 3 months. Now suddenly at the time of doing indifate on screen it is showing “Can not communicate with SAP GUI Interface” after Windows Update last day.

I have double checked for the script info, client and server side script is enabled.

Checked with RZ11-- Current value is set True
Scripting option - Enabled

How to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Hi,

Since this started right after a Windows update, the issue is very likely on the SAP GUI and UiPath bridge rather than your scripting settings (those look correct).

Things to check:

  1. Run Studio as Administrator once and try again.
  2. In SAP Logon, verify:
    Options → Accessibility & Scripting →
    :check_mark: Enable scripting
    :check_mark: Allow external applications
  3. Restart both SAP and UiPath after doing the above.

If it still fails, try reinstalling SAP GUI .

Best regards,
Ghaith

@Ritesh_Burman

Try upgrading the UiAutomation and System packages to the latest possible version. There could be SAP GUI update as well.

Hi @Ghaith_abdesselem ,

Thanks for your resolution.

Bad luck!! This is still an issue for me.

Followed the above mention approach.

Any other solution? Suddenly it is stopped to interact with UiPath.

Thanks

Hi @ashokkarale ,

It didn’t worked. Could u please suggest something else?

Thanks

Updates in Windows 11 24H2 have repeatedly broken SAP GUI processes and interfaces, including scripting.
A confirmed case from April 2025 shows SAP GUI failing to open or communicate correctly after Windows update KB5055523, even when scripting was enabled. [windowslatest.com]

try 1st it in lower environment

  1. Re-register SAP GUI Scripting COM DLLs

Run from cmd → as a administrator

cd “C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui”

regsvr32.exe sapfewse.ocx

regsvr32.exe sapscript.ocx

2)Remove corrupt MDB history / local tab files

%appdata%\SAP\SAP GUI\History %appdata%\SAP\SAP GUI\History\SAP\SAP GUI\LocalTabOrder

  1. Roll back the specific Windows Update

  2. Reinstall SAP GUI (only if above fails)

Hi,

I re install the SAP GUI but still it is showing the same error.

Thanks

Have you tried other mentioned options?

Hi ,

Yes tried other approaches as those were failed i went for re installing the SAP but its still same issue

Thanks.

did you tried roll back the windows update?

Which AV you are using is it crowstrike ?

Hi,

Its internal AV and it was already there from 1st day. Recently my working automation has been stopped due to some reason. I am not able to detect the issue.

Is there any way to resolve this issue from UiPath by enabling some plug in? Or any other approach?

Bcz its restricted to roll back the windows update.

Thanks

The point is we have to try all the side which includes AV though it’s there from day one. not just focusing from UiPath
You confirmed that after windows update it happened
We can try from UiPath just try to downgrade or upgrade that’s what max we can do

Can you confirm it’s happening on only one machine or all machines? Lower environment?

Hi,

I have observed one thing , client 200 is allowing me to interact with UiPath and indicate on screen is working fine but for client 250 its showing communication issue with UiPath for the same SAP connection on same machine.

Any idea whats the issue?

Best regards,
Ritesh

Then you need to reach out SAP team to enable the scripting from SAP server end
