Running the same job multiple times at the same time

Hi, I want to run Foreground unattended job multiple times at the same time. What do I need ?

  • Multiple Machines?
  • High Density Robots?
  • Which licenses should I buy?
  • Should I buy Automation Cloud Runtime per machine?

What can be most effective and cheapest way? and If I want to use Standard VM with Always (7000 Rus/Month) what could be total cost to run same job 3-4 times at the same time

Hi @gururaser

  1. Deployment Options:
    Choose between deploying multiple robots on separate machines or utilizing high-density robots on a single machine if using UiPath. High-density robots enable concurrent execution of multiple processes on a single machine.

  2. Licensing:
    Acquire unattended robot licenses for each machine or high-density robot intended for job execution. The number of licenses required is determined by the desired level of simultaneous job executions.

As servers are mostly 24-7 available check if you can run the bot to maximum capacity
If there’s available capacity on existing machines, high-density robots may prove more cost-efficient compared to deploying separate machines for each job.

Hope this helps :slight_smile:

Hi @gururaser , adding on to above post from @AJ_Ask , you also need to procure CAL license from Microsoft to parallelly run multiple sessions in a SINGLE VM concurrently in addition to UiPath licenses.

Else you can choose to run in multiple machines having adequate number of unattended licenses.
Eg: 3 runtimes/licenses to parallelly run sessions in 3machine.

Please let us know if you have any queries.

Should I buy 3 Robot Units Bundle - UiPath hosted ($1,150.00) or 3 Unattended Robot - Self hosted ($960.00) to run my automation in 3 machines at the same time?

Hi @gururaser

Ultimately, the choice between UiPath hosted and self-hosted depends on your preferences

Infrastructure Control: If you prefer more control over the hosting environment and have existing infrastructure, the self-hosted option might be suitable.

UiPath takes care of the hosting environment. This can be beneficial if you want a more hands-off approach.

Also look at your future scalability requirements. If you see scaling up the number of robots

Thank you for info!! Can you look at the picture what does it mean? If I have 3 Automation Cloud Runtimes in one machine, does it mean that I can run 3 jobs same time in the same machine ?

Automation Suite - About licenses (uipath.com)

The runtime represents the maximum number of robots that can simultaneously run on a specific machine and it is manually customizable.

The number of runtimes assigned to a machine determines the number of Unattended or NonProduction licenses consumed when the UiPath Robot is running on the machine. The number of robots defined on a machine, on the other hand, is not dependent on the number of runtimes.

For example, if you assign only 3 runtimes to a machine with 5 robots, only 3 licenses are consumed. If you execute 5 jobs or schedule all the robots on that machine, the following sequence occurs:

  1. 3 jobs are executed on the first 3 licensed robots;
  2. the remaining 2 unlicensed robots are placed in a pending state;
  3. the first 3 robots release their licenses;
  4. the remaining 2 robots can now obtain a license and they execute the assigned jobs.

So as I understood from your explanation, I should buy at least 4 Robot Units Bundle (20000 Rus)(they contain VM Cloud Robot right?) $5,020.00 + tax and 3 Automation Cloud Runtimes for single machine, it costs 17000 Rus/month to run 3 foreground unattended jobs in the same machine at the same time

Am I right ?

I am little confuse in this maybe @Yoichi or @Anil_G knows better. I would suggest have a call with UiPath support team to understand better.

Hi @gururaser ,

Do you want to use multiple Cloud Robot VMs in Automation Cloud? If so, it’s necessary to purchase the number of “UiPath - Cloud Robot Unit Bundle 72K”. (If I remember correctly, each robot needs 6,000 RUs/ month if they always run)

Regards,

I would like to introduce my problem, so you might understand better.

I want to start job using API, If I use single robot and single machine and If I send 3 POST request, they will work in queue. I want to start 3 jobs at the same time. What and how many I need to buy something?

Hi,

If you want to use 3 UiPath Cloud Robot VMs in Automation Cloud, it’s necessary to purchase “UiPath - Cloud Robot Unit Bundle 72K” x3.

If you already have machine for robots or use VM/VDI in other cloud etc, it’s necessary to purchase “UiPath - Flex - Unattended Robot” x3. Also need cost for VM/VDI or hardware.

To be more precise, perhaps you should contact the reseller in your region.

Regards,
